Simple Coil Gun

Friends , this project is much nice and easy you can make it with minimum investments and quickly but you should be much careful too.

Description 

This simple illustration of coil-gun explains magnetic induction.It can be made of a simple circuit.

Materials required

• A pen body or a cylindrical tube
• One or two high volt battery (more voltage will give more attraction)
• A push switch
• 2 meters  22/20 gauge copper wire
• Steel nail
• A holder (optional)

Procedure

• Take the pen body and coil at one end at length of one inch or a bit more try to make maximum loops but leave half meter wire from both side 
• Connect the rest of wire from both sides to battery and push switch as in diagram.
• Place a nail in pen body opposite to coil.
• Press push switch to fire.

Mechanism   

•   When push button is pressed , certain magnetic field acts on nail which attracts nail towards it and just at moment magnetic field disappears allowing nail to move forward.The whole process is mechanism of magnetic induction.

Precautions

• Don't stand near to direction of coil while performing experiment.
• Keep proper insulation
• Don't use it to harm anyone just use it as an illustration.
